"About 8,000 nurses are currently unemployed in Albania." This was stated by the President of the Order of Nurses, Blerina Duka in Euronews Albania.
"There are about 8 thousand unemployed nurses. They finished school and could not find work," she said.
According to Duka, newly graduated nursing students are registered in the portal "Nurses for Albania", as she sees this portal as one of the only opportunities for their employment.
"They are registered in the portal Nurse for Albania, it is one of the best things that have happened for health care because everyone can be employed through this portal", Duka added.
The President of the Order of Nurses underlined that in the district of Tirana and in some other cities of the country there are vacancies, referring to the portal, but added that there may be different reasons why there are nurses who are not employed.
She underlined that every recent graduate must follow the necessary procedures and register on the portal in order to be employed. She added that remote areas remain problematic, where health centers find it difficult to find nurses.
