The statue of Mother Teresa rises in Adelaide |
The whole Albanian nation everywhere is proud of a prominent figure who contributed to the whole world with her work in aid of the poor and vulnerable.
Mother Teresa is revered by all, but this time this pride was beautifully displayed during Catholic Easter in a city in distant Australia where the Albanian community inaugurated the statue dedicated to the Albanian saint.
Adelaide in the state of South Australia is home to many Albanians who live here and contribute as part to the Australian community. This community has formed a Catholic association called Mother Teresa.

The Association or the Society as the members call it had its beginnings in June 2015. Its President Tonin Pecaj shows that the main goal of the Albanian Catholic Association 'Mother Teresa' is the unification of Albanian emigrants, the development of various activities of patriotism, and the promotion of Albanian values in Australia.
