Arba Kokalari, Albanian MP for Sweden in the European Parliament says that the application of the two Nordic countries (Sweden-Finland) to NATO has come after threats from Vladimir Putin.
"Has verbally threatened and sent military planes that invaded the Swedish border. He was very aggressive," said the politician.
Kokalari says that the way Russia treats its neighbors shows how important a strong NATO is.
Before the war in Ukraine public opinion in Sweden was divided and the majority was against joining NATO.
"After the war, the public is in favor of NATO and most political parties support NATO membership. 6 out of 8 political parties in Sweden are pro," said Kokalari.
The member of the European Parliament is convinced that the two countries will join NATO, as this will make the military alliance stronger.
