The final of the Europa League will be an event that will be remembered by Albanians for several reasons and will certainly not be forgotten by many businesses, in terms of monetary benefits.

In the evening, the newly reconstructed stadium of Tirana Air Albania will host the final of the UEFA Conference League between the Italian team AS Roma and the Dutch team Feyenoord.

Tirana is decorated with the clothes of the final, mainly in the center area and around the national arena stadium.

"Air Albania" Stadium will host for the first time a European final, as the whole city is already available for this historic match, not only for Albania but also for UEFA itself, as this is the first time that this competition takes place.

UEFA chose Tirana as the host in December 2020, a year after the new stadium officially opened and before any team qualified to enter the debut competition. Up to 100 thousand Italian and Dutch fans are expected to come to Tirana, although each party has been given only 4 thousand tickets for the inaugural final of the competition of the third European Category of Clubs. The capacity at the National Arena is only about 20,000. About 88% of the remaining tickets were bought by Albanian fans.

Ticket prices started from 2500-9000 leks officially, up to high prices, resold on the black market, with values exceeding 1 thousand euros.

The final is a higher profile match than many people had predicted in 2018 when UEFA decided to create the Europa League. Its goal was to give clubs in the lower echelons more opportunities to stay involved in European competitions beyond December.

Entrepreneurs consider it as an event that will give another rhythm to the beginning of the summer season and there are several categories of businesses that are thought to be 'favored' by this event.

Accommodation

As Tirana prepared for perhaps the most important football event it has ever hosted, hotel prices for fans who have booked seats in the stands have risen predictably, two weeks before the day of the final. With the influx of people expected to come to Tirana, the hospitality industry has seen this as a golden egg.

Prices for hotels and Airbnb on the accommodation site Booking.com are much higher than usual during the two nights in Tirana from 23 to 25 May.

A two-day apartment, located 1.2 miles from the city center, for example, costs about 422 euros. A week later it would cost almost three times less, about 120 euros.

According to market sources, the daily rental apartments are all rented out. While in the hotels around the center, one night stay is reported to have been released on average 150 euros and if we ask at the last minute, it is reported to Booking or Agoda that 90% of the capacities are occupied.

Broadcast rights

Digital has the exclusive right to broadcast the match. In communication with them, they claim that the interest for the right of public view has been high this year since there are several organizations in the capital that will broadcast the match.

Also, the prices of advertisements broadcast outdoors are expected to be high, according to communications with some of the organizers.

Two police and a citizen were injured by Dutch fans in Tirana

A day before the match the situation between the two fans of the teams that will go down the next day on the green field seems to be out of control.

While several incidents were recorded in different areas of the capital where about 16 police officers and 5 civilians were injured. Many Roma and Feyenoord fans have been accompanied to Police Station.
