Ilir Meta during his speech at the IX Global Forum in Baku |
The President of Albania Ilir Meta has attacked Vladimir Putin, during his speech at the IX Global Forum in Baku "Global resistance, global cooperation".
According to Meta, the war in Ukraine produced the opposite effect of what Russia expected. "Did not divide, but united our nations. "Putin wanted a smaller NATO, but is facing a wider NATO, with more NATO presence in the eastern part of the Alliance and also with more members of the North Atlantic Alliance." he wrote on Facebook.
"This new geopolitical landscape deems necessary a new approach of the EU and NATO for enlargement and collective security. The enlargement should be considered a powerful geostrategic instrument.
"The conflict in Ukraine has greatly increased the urgency of membership of countries aspiring to join NATO and the European Union."
Meta said that Russian influence in our country and the region remains a concern.
