Kosovo to Organize the World Cup in Handball 2022
From July 11 to 17, Kosovo will host the World Cup in handball for universities. For six days, students from around 20 countries of the world will stay in Pristina, who will seek the title of the best in this championship.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Handball Federation and the Municipality of Pristina, have joined forces for the best possible organization of this great event of global proportions, Euronews reports.

Musa Selimi, dean at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, speaking for KosovaPress, shows the importance of this event held in Pristina, as well as the work that was done to win the organization of this championship.

"Yes, we had a rivalry, there were several countries that applied to the competition that was part of FISU, which was held in Lausanne because FISU's headquarters is in Lausanne. In this direction, we went with a very detailed project, prepared especially for this event and we presented Kosovo, Pristina as the capital, we presented our gyms, dormitories and it was interesting for the commission of five members, whose panel interviewed and asked questions constantly that they wanted to know all the information and not be left lacking in terms of information. This was three months before the decision was made, in 2019, and in the second part of December 2019, we took the decision from the general secretary that Kosovo will be the host of this event", said Selimi.

A significant number of the participating states have not yet recognized the state of Kosovo, so Selimi says that this will be an opportunity to present Kosovo's values to them.
