As expected, the 3000 meters steeplechase race at the Oran 2022 Mediterranean Games did not present any surprises. Luiza Gega gave the gold medal to Albania in a totally dominated competition.

Gega performed another phenomenal performance as he also set a new national record with a time of 9:14.29, thus improving the result of a month ago of 9:15.48 that he had achieved in Hengelo, Holland.

This is Luiza Gega's second gold medal in a row at the Mediterranean Games, that of "Tarragona 2018", with the red and black athlete going through an extraordinary form.

Also today the athlete Franko Burraj excelled, who qualified in the final of 400 meters. Burraj also set a national record in this discipline with a time of 46:26.
