Vanesa Sono is a 20-year-old from Saranda who is enjoying success in the international music market. In 2015, she won the talent show "Little Genius" in Albania, while today her song "Slay me" was broadcast on the BBC.

In a live connection with Albanian media, Vanesa was very proud of her journey in Britain. She showed that she is doing her best to follow in the footsteps of Rita Ora and Dua Lipa.

"I'm very, very proud, I didn't expect it to happen so soon. 'Slay me' got the attention I wanted from the BBC, RADIO KISS FM.

I hope great things await me. I don't want to speak prematurely, I'll let the work speak for itself. I'm doing my best to be in the footsteps of Rita Ora, and Dua Lipa and I hope to have the same fate", said Vanesa.

She further revealed the moment her parents' reactions took place when the BBC aired her song

"When it was first broadcast on the BBC, we were in the car with mum and dad. It was a very important moment for me. Other times I heard it from my laptop. Mum and Dad are of course my biggest supporters, they have done everything for me since coming to England. Mom and dad felt very happy, dad got a little teary because he's a sensitive like me.

To tell you the truth, there was a prejudice that it is that stereotype that you came from Albania. Yes, I have not lost my mind that I am proud to be Albanian", added the 20-year-old.
