4 Czechs were filming the former weapons factory in Albania, arrested

 Four citizens with Czech passports were arrested by the police after they were caught taking pictures and filming near the arms factory in Poliçan.

Sources inform that the Czechs were arrested by the military police guarding the premises of the former arms factory, local media reports.

Reports say the Czechs are being questioned by the police.

They claimed that they are tourists and no illegal items were found during the check.

The Berat Police Director, the Military Police, and two Forces of Rapid Intervention vans have arrived in Berat.

A day before, two Russian citizens, Svetlana Timofoeva, 33, Mikhail Zorin, 23, and a Ukrainian were arrested after trying to enter the military plant in Gramsh.

In their testimony, the persons with Czech passports claim that they are bloggers and mainly photographed military territories that are abandoned and no longer used by the state.

Meanwhile, a few hours later, the Ministry of Defense reacted officially regarding the arrest of 4 Czech citizens who were filming near the former arms factory in Poliçan.

In a press release, the ministry clarifies that the incident took place around 08:40 this morning, in one of the tunnels at the Poliçant Plant, where movements of unidentified persons were detected.

The police caught 2 Czech citizens inside them and a few hours later also their 2 roommates.

"Immediately, the Military Police in cooperation with the State Police isolated the entrances to the tunnels, which are almost all communicating with each other, and after searches, they arrested two people of Czech nationality. Around 12:30, at a distance of 1.5 km from the tunnels outside the perimeter of the department's perimeter, two citizens of Czech nationality, cohabitants of the above two citizens, were found and accompanied, the police explained.

The above persons have been detained and the procedures are currently being continued by the security authorities in the country." the Ministry said.

The event comes just one day after the incident that happened at the former weapons factory in Gramsh where two Russian citizens and one Ukrainian tried to enter on Saturday evening.

They attacked the three Albanian soldiers who were in the factory with neuro-paralyzing spray.
