Photo of Idriz Batha performing the double-headed eagle with his own hands that made Athlitiki Enosi Larissa F.C pay him a bag of euros |
In 2018, the Albanian footballer Idriz Batha became part of the Greek team Athlitiki Enosi Larissa F.C, (Ael) signing a contract with the Greek team, however, the deal was biased by the Hellenic team.
Reason? A photo posted by the former Tirana team captain on social networks performing the eagle symbol was interpreted as a symbol that shows Greater Albania.
Batha sued Ael Larisa and FIFA acknowledged the right of the player and the Greek club had to pay 181,000 euros, according to what the contract provided. The decision was also confirmed by the Sports Court of Sports in Lausanne (CAS) on May 18, 2018.
However, despite the decision, Ael Larisa has not been correct with payments and on December 17 last year, the midfielder who is part of Uta Arad in Romania has again indicted the Greek club, claiming for nearly 81,000 euros, due that the amount provided for in the first decision had not passed according to the points provided for in the decision.

The case went again in favor of Batha, who on April 6 won again in FIFA, with the Greek club that was forced to repay the remainder of the obligations, but also the fine for failing to comply with the first decision.
Albanian media say that Ael Larisa has only settled half the amount, while not respecting FIFA's decision, which has brought its marketing to be blocked, exactly because of this issue. According to the verifications, up to this point the Greek team could not federate any player in the team, while this sentence may be removed at the time it will completely repay its obligations to the Albanian player.

At the time, Ael Larissa technical director Sotiris Markos announced the termination of the contract, saying: “The reason why this agreement was canceled is that we saw online a photo of the Albanian player performing with his hands the two-headed eygle of the symbol of Greater Albania. This is something bad because we have many Serbian players in the team and also Greater Albania includes countries within Macedonia, as well as Greece. Also, many fans would be disappointed, but he would never think that that eagle photo would cost a sack of money, with Batha who never wore Ael Larisa's jersey."
