Immigrants living in different countries of the world continue to send millions of euros to Kosovo.
The data of the Central Bank and the World Bank show that 13.3 billion euros have been sent within 14 years.
They continue to be one of the main sources of financing family expenses in Kosovo. Since Kosovo's independence in 2008, their remittances have continued to increase, Monitor reports.

Where despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Kosovo emigration during 2020 sent around 1 billion euros.
In 2021, they sent 1 billion 143 million euros. Despite the measures of the COVID-19 pandemic, the value brought to our country is 163.9 million euros more than in 2020.
In the first five months of 2022, 445.4 million euros were sent, where the largest value in April at 108.1 million euros.
According to the remittance channels, CBK says that 278 million euros were transferred through the first remittance agencies, while the rest through commercial banks and alternative channels.
Whereas, as far as emigrant remittances are concerned by country, Germany is the country where the most money is sent to Kosovo. 40 percent of deliveries came from Germany, followed by Switzerland with 18.5 percent and the United States of America with 8 percent.
The World Bank emphasizes that the participation of remittances in the Gross Domestic Product of Kosovo is about 20 percent.
