Gega made a fantastic appearance in the final of the 3000 meters with obstacles steeplechase, being declared European Champion in the event that is taking place in Munich.

The Albanian champion went to the final with the best time recorded in the qualifying phase and was the main contender to win this race. She showed this in the best way by dictating the pace and taking the lead after the first 100 meters, to leave behind all the rivals who were trying to snatch from her hands a medal that she had been chasing for a long time.

No one kept Luiza Gega's fantastic pace in this race and the Albanian athlete managed to cross the finish line alone with a time of 9.11.31, which became the new record of the European Championship, breaking by 6 seconds the one set in 2010 by the Russian Zaripova

Of course, this time recorded by Gega is also the new Albanian national record in this discipline, as the athlete improved the time she set at the Mediterranean Games a few weeks ago.

We wish success to the Albanian champion for the upcoming competitions!
