After graduating from the College of Police Officers, Nita successfully put on the uniform and, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the work, performed the task of maintaining order in the city of Auckland.

For the Albanian Diaspora, she said: "I am satisfied with the work and proud of the police uniform in the state of law and order, where different cultures and races live in full harmony, the state where I grew up, the state that gave us a helping hand when we needed it the most".

Before joining the blue uniforms, Rakovica worked as an emergency hotline officer and says this gave her the ability to "deal with intense situations and be able to stay calm at the same time".

“However, my ambition was always to become a police officer and help the community face to face. While I was at College I volunteered to help out with the Armed Offenders Training Squad and I definitely see myself joining a squad in the next few years – if I fit in well enough,” Rakovica told local media in December 2021, shortly after launching the course.

Nita and her family moved to New Zealand in October 1999 when she was just 5 years old. These were the arrivals of Kosovar families who had experienced the genocide of the Serbian state in their ancestral lands. Like all Albanian children of school age, together with them, Nita quickly learned the language and adapted to the new environment. Many of them have completed their studies at Auckland's prestigious universities and work all over New Zealand.
