"The "Open Balkan" initiative undermines the "Berlin Process" and gives more economic and political power to Serbia".

This is what American analyst Edward P. Joseph declared in an interview for Deutsche Welle, where he added that Serbian nationalist ambitions are worrying.

"Members of the US Senate have just introduced legislation on the Balkans, which includes a proposal to "evaluate regional cooperative initiatives, such as the Open Balkans initiative and the Western Balkans Regional Common Market." The dangers of "Open Balkan" are not well understood, even though they are clear to many people in the Balkans.

Yes, I have served for about 12 years in the region, including the war years in all the conflict countries. Like many others in the region, I notice dynamics and developments, especially in the discourse of nationalism of "Greater Serbia", advanced by President Aleksandar Vučić and his delegates, under the banner "Serbian World", he said.

According to the analyst, "Open Balkan" is not only a distraction from the essential problems of the region, which are political, but in fact, it is a danger that can lead to their worsening.
