Albania aims to transform itself into a net exporter of electricity by 2030. During the speech held at the energy forum of the countries of Southeast Europe, the Minister of Energy Belinda Balluku emphasized that the government's focus is now on the completion of projects that will provide energy from renewable resources.

"We currently have in progress a number of important projects for the production of electricity such as the two photovoltaic parks, the Skavica hydro plant, liquid gas thermal plants, or SHELL's exploration of gas reserves. We aim to increase production capacity up to 4 terawatts in 2030, transforming Albania into a net exporter of electricity. This will provide energy security for the countries of the region as well," said Balluku.

Ambassador Yuri Kim, present at this forum, emphasized the importance of energy production from Albania as a solution for the region as well.

"Albania will surprise us by building wind and solar production capacities. These are efforts to integrate the regional energy market, and this is an effort that the US supports," Yuri Kim said.

During the discussions at the Energy Forum of South-Eastern European countries, the importance of energy efficiency and the need for saving to cope with this crisis that has affected all countries was also underlined.
