If the decision for the return of online betting is approved, very strong conditions will be imposed and it will be done with international companies, declared Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a public hearing on the reopening of sports betting, organized by the Albanian Olympic Committee.
All the money will go to sports, culture, and youth, the head of government added, state media reports.
"We will look at this very positively, we will set very strong conditions, we will definitely ask if this will be done, it will be done with international companies, we will not allow the recycling of any kind of thing that does not bring here the peak of transparency, the peak of guarantees for players and definitely the peak of legality, and these are guaranteed by large international companies, which operate worldwide and operate in the European Union area".
"Today we have a part, which since then licensed casinos only in 5-star hotels, which was the result of the need to stimulate high-level tourism, the rich are not stimulated, but the economy, because these hotels bring a type of consumer that doesn't stay in the hotel, he leaves there, goes to the fortress of Tirana, enters the shops, buys, rents the car, he is a type of consumer who spends and there we have a considerable amount of income for the state budget.
