The academic and administrative staff of the universities will hold a 1-hour protest today.

This protest will be a warning to the government, which has not had any reaction to their petition for salary increases but also greater support for scientific research.

The protest will take place at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at 10:00, Tirana.

Professors and university teachers warn against starting the teaching process on October 17 if the government will not take measures to meet their demands.

Euronews Albania says that the teachers' demands are:

• Increasing the salaries of lecturers and support staff.
• They request that in October of this year their salary will increase by 30% while in October of 2023 it will increase by 20%
• Increasing funding for scientific research
• Lab workers should be paid for the dangers they encounter at work
• Seniority payment
• Payment for overtime hours
• Making the university budget public and how the money is managed.
