At the place where Kevin Mustafa collided |
A 20-year-old Albanian man lost his life in a tragic accident in Italy. Corriere Della Sera writes that Kevin Mustafa immediately braked his motorcycle to avoid colliding with a car, as he saw the car queue. He tried to avoid it by turning left, but hit the rear left corner of the car and lost his balance.
The 20-year-old had arrived in Terno d'Isola when he was still very young, together with his Albanian father and his mother Fanny Mourera, from Ecuador. The family had gone to live in a building at via Roma 23H, near the library. Kevin's parents separated almost immediately and the boy was raised by his mother.
"He was just one of us, he was in class with me in kindergarten, primary and secondary school, no one ever saw him as an immigrant," said one of his friends.
"He was a very quiet man, many times he was alone," adds another.
The boy then graduated in mechanical engineering at the Marconi Institute in Dalmine and worked for various companies and until recently was a maintenance technician at Brembo.
The accident happened yesterday morning around 8.50, as Kevin was driving his motorbike and driving along the provincial road from Carvico to Terno, a road that is often busy with queues in that direction.
"He fell forward, against the Lancia Y in front of me, ending up with his head on one of the wheels," says a truck driver.
"The boy fell very badly, his helmet broke. I immediately went down to help him and five or six other people also. We didn't touch him, because his neck was in a bad position and we were afraid of making things worse, but we called 118. He was still breathing, although with a lot of gasping, we couldn't help but see him die."
