Masha speaking to Euronews Albania |
With similar names, Misha and Masha Paramanova are siblings who have become very attached to the seaside town of Vlora.
They have also learned the Albanian language and have now mastered it enough to take lessons at school.
"I like Vlora, I like the school, and I have friends and colleagues. At first, I spoke English, now I have learned Albanian," says Masha.
"I learned Albanian in a course with a teacher, then with the help of the teacher at school. Now it's not difficult, at first it was difficult because I didn't understand the language well," says Misha.
Misha, who is the children's older brother, continues his studies at the vocational trade school. He has even already found opportunities to do the professional practice.
"In Moldova we cannot do internships in hotels, and I think I will stay in Vlora or in Albania in another city. Because it's very good here and what I can do here I can't do in Moldova, it's more difficult there," he says.
Even though they have acclimatized to Vlora, they miss their family and society in their homeland.
I want to see my grandmother, my friends, I like Moldova very much and Albania very much. But now I will live in Vlora. I have friends at school and I'm in volleyball, I train, I have my friends" - underlines Masha.
"I miss my friends, I have my grandmother in Moldova, I miss that, but I don't want to go there. I am very good with my classmates, at first, I communicated in English, now in Albanian" - emphasizes Misha.
The son of the family from Moldova is highly appreciated even by the teachers at school when he learns.
"He is a student who demands a lot, all the teachers have supported him, he is doing very well. In contrast to what we were afraid of at the beginning as a foreign student for the first time in our school, Misha has a very good integration" - emphasizes the director of the trade school in Vlora, Alda Mahilaj.
"Like all our young people, students, Misha is engaged in all the activities that take place in the classroom, but from what we have talked with Misha, because I am the professional practice teacher, he thinks about his future here" - said Professor Deni Llanaj.
