The British Ambassador to our country, Alastair King-Smith, during a visit to Kukës, called on Albanians not to risk their lives by going to England illegally.

He stated that there are ambitious employment projects in this region, begging the citizens to work with them to create hope and opportunities for this region.

"I am in Kukës to start the program 'New perspectives for the district of Kukës'. This is our most ambitious initiative in the north of Albania. It will guarantee new skills and employment in the region. My message to anyone thinking of traveling to the UK illegally is, wait, don't go now, and don't risk your life! What you are shown on social media is not reality. You are listening to the British Prime Minister that Britain is looking for workers, so stay here and apply for visas legally. Don't run away illegally, my message to parents and family members is that criminals and traffickers are exploiting your children and forcing them into the underworld. Please work with us to create hope and opportunities for this region", he declared.

In Kukës, the launch of the project "New perspectives for the Kukës district" was presented with a fund of 8.4 million pounds that the British government will implement for 3 years in the Kukës district.

The aim is to curb the phenomenon of illegal immigration to Britain.

According to the ambassador, this project will bring a new perspective for families and new employment opportunities to support Albania.
