They are foreigners, from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, who have chosen to work in Albania.

From four hours, in this company that produces buckets for excavators, the labor force has doubled.

"Foreigners have taken over, with our supervision, they do the role of helper very well, I speak a little English, but above all is logic, the order of work is understood", says Arben Marku, the foreman of the assembly team.

At first when they come from abroad, it is difficult for them to speak to understand our way of working. As far as work is concerned, the foreigners are calmer and do it and there is no obstacle", said Mikel Feta, the foreman of machines.

The high pay is the main reason why they come here. They have no expenses, as the company that employs them provides them with free accommodation.

"I have been working here for 1 month. I came to Albania because I need money. I live in an apartment that is paid for by the company, I will stay here, in the future I plan to take my family here," said Harpreet Singh, machine assistant.

Kanwajeet has been in Albania for several months. From a simple worker, he has managed to rise on duty.

"I came here 6 months ago, I started as an assistant, now I am an operator", he said.

Others see this job as a springboard.

"In India, I graduated as an electrician, there are jobs there, but they don't pay you, we get just to survive, I need more money, I have friends who would like to come here, but they want to work in their professions. I also want to work in my profession, not in welding", stated Ashfak Ali Darvesh, cutting machine operator.

In March 2021, in Albania, over 8,573 foreigners came for employment. The new law has made it easier for them to obtain a work permit.
