Over 59% of Albanians think that Albanian politics controls justice

 59.3% of Albanians think that justice is not independent from politics. Asked by Euronews Albania, 25.5% of them were neutral and only 10.4% of the respondents said that justice is independent of politics.

44.1% of Albanians believe that the justice system is controlled by the government, 26% are neutral and 21.6% of respondents think that justice is independent of the government.

According to citizens, 43.7% do not believe that SPAK will investigate all senior politicians, 28.4% are neutral and 21.2% of them believe that SPAK will investigate all senior politicians.

Regardless of the judges who failed to pass the filter of the new Justice Reform, 59.8% of Albanians do not think that the justice system has not been cleansed of corrupt judges and prosecutors.

22.6% of Albanians are neutral, while 15.2% think that the justice system has been cleansed of corrupt judges and prosecutors.

The justice system has not succeeded in punishing corrupt politicians for 57.2% of Albanians, 23.6% of them are neutral and only 17.2% of them think that it has succeeded.

Likewise, Albanians are not optimistic about the results of the fight against organized crime either, as 53.9% of them think that the justice system has not had results.

22.3% are neutral and only 22.1% think that the justice system is giving results in the fight against organized crime.

49.7% of Albanians think that the justice system has not managed to offer more justice to citizens. 27.2% are neutral while only 20.6% of them believe that there is justice for the citizens.

The findings are from Euronews Albania, carried out during the period 9-21 September 2022, conducted by MRB and Data Centrum, at the national level with 1000 face-to-face interviews.
