Albanian President Bajram Begaj promises support for Albanians living in Serbia

 The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, received a delegation from the municipality of Presheva on Friday.

President Begaj appreciated the seriousness and maturity with which the Albanians and the Albanian political parties of the municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac, and Medveja showed this time about the process of the general population census in the Republic of Serbia and welcomed the high participation, especially in the two first municipalities.

Appreciating the spirit of cooperation demonstrated by all Albanian actors and political factors in the Presheva Valley, President Begaj emphasized that this cooperation brought a more accurate and fair registration of Albanians living in this region of Serbia.

"This serves the status of Albanians in these municipalities and factors them even more in defense of their rights and freedoms in Serbia, which must be in full compliance with international standards and European best practices", he underlined.

After assessing the new positive climate and regional cooperation as a whole, as well as the increased attention of the European Union to the Western Balkans region, President Begaj assured the delegation of the municipality of Presheva that the Albanians of the Presheva Valley would always find him and to the Albanian institutions a strong support for the full realization of their rights.
