 Today is held the awarding ceremony of the diploma of the Albanologist Brian D. Joseph, November 4, 2022, in the "Aleks Buda" hall, Academy of Sciences of Albania.

Brian D. Joseph was accepted as an honorary member of the Albanian Academy of Sciences by decision of the Assembly on November 27, 2021.

The ceremony was opened by prof. dr. Aristotle Spiro, who presented the scientific contributions of the American Albanologist Brian D.Joseph. He named Brian D.Joseph, one of the most enlightened minds of modern Albanianology, who with the sharpness of his thinking has revised and clarified many of the basic concepts of theoretical linguistics and has contributed to these concepts being perceived in a more realistic way.

Brian D. Joseph himself presented the academic lecture "The importance of Albanian for me and for everyone: my life with the Albanian language and Albanian linguistics".

He determined the study of the Albanian language with special importance in the recognition of the development of humanity and the profile of Albanian itself in the trunk of the Indo-European languages.

After these lectures and greetings from academics Matteo Mandalà, Francesco Altimari (online), and acad. Shaban Sinani, as well as Russian Albanologist Alexander Rusakov, to the Albanologist Brian Joseph, were presented with diplomas by the President of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, Skender Gjinushi, who congratulated him for his contribution to academic research and field research.

Prof. Brian D Joseph has managed to illuminate the unseen side of linguistic change and evolution, as well as the theory of morphology.

Interweaving academic research with field research, Brian D. Joseph has revealed unknown sides of border language interaction and the role of cross-linguistic contact in the context of Albanians' comprehensive relations with other peoples of the Balkans.

As a continuation of the best American tradition of Albanian studies, he has been influential in fostering and establishing lasting inter-Albanological connections.
