128 businesses have been closed, unemployment in Kukës increases by 200 people per year

 The city of Kukës in the North of Albania is one of the municipalities of the country where the unemployment rate is among the highest compared to the number of the population active for work.

At a time when businesses in Kukës complain that they do not have workforce, the offices of the National Employment Agency found 4,376 job seekers registered, a figure that has been increased by at least 200 new job seekers compared to 2021, local media reports.

According to the regional head of the employment office, based on this situation, a special agreement has been reached to mitigate the high rate of unemployment and to push people to accept the jobs offered by businesses.

Meanwhile, during the last two years in Kukës, the number of businesses with passive status has also increased, where 128 of them have closed their activity.
