Lawyer Naim Hasani stated that the 5-point plan presented by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for the deportation of illegal Albanian immigrants is one of the most drastic measures that Great Britain has taken in recent times.

In the "Review" show on Euronews Albania, Hasani said that this year, 13 thousand of Albanians have arrived in Great Britain, mostly by dinghies.

Such a figure, according to the lawyer, has alerted the British authorities.

"First of all, I want to say that the statistics you presented are really sad for that large number of Albanians who are attempting a deadly, extremely dangerous journey in one of the most dangerous straits in the world. A remarkable proportion of those who undertake such a journey are desperate people who have nothing left in their country. 405,000 foreign nationals came to Britain this year. Of these, 44,000 have entered Britain illegally, mostly by dinghy. Out of 44 thousand, 13 thousand is the number of Albanian citizens who entered illegally.

Despite the problems that Albania has, despite the poverty that exists, the lack of money, the alternative for a better life, this extraordinary influx shows that something is not working in Albania. Therefore, the British authorities are shocked in front of such a phenomenon. It has a larger number than Syria and Afghanistan. Seeing such a situation, the British government has announced a number of measures, which are probably the most drastic measures and were taken mainly for the Albanians", he emphasized.

The 5-point plan for the departure of Albanian immigrants:

First, there will be a new, unified command of small ships, which will involve the military, civilian forces, and intelligence.

Second, illegal immigrants will be prohibited from opening bank accounts.

Thirdly, asylum seekers will no longer be accommodated in hotels, but in dormitories and military warehouses.

Fourth, it will become very clear to the employees who handle asylum cases that Albania is a safe country. Those who claim to be victims of modern slavery should prove it, Sunak said.

Fifth, at the start of the new year the government will introduce laws to ensure that people who arrive in the UK illegally will not be able to claim asylum here.
