Former judge Mimoza Margjeka 4 years and 6 months in prison for a €6,000 bribe

 The Special Court has sentenced Mimoza Margjeka, the judge of the Korçë Appeal, to 4 years and 6 months in prison for the charge of "corruption". However, the court decided to suspend the execution of the sentence, and therefore, in the end, Margjeka will serve 3 years of Probation Service and was denied the right to exercise public functions for 5 years.

On the other hand, for Arben Cara, her husband involved in this scheme, the court gave 4 years in prison, while the lawyer Skënder Demiri was put on 3 years of probation. Also, for the defendant Klaudio Zhilla, the Court gave a sentence of 3 years in prison, as well as for Nejton Bali 2 years and 4 months of Probation Service.

"Crime is high, they do it themselves. Those who have the power are doing the crime, the others are tools. I was not a member, I was the only judge. I don't need to receive signals. On March 1, SPAK concluded the investigations for judge Mimoza Margjeka and the group accused of passive corruption. According to SPAK, Mimoza Margjeka, Arben Cara, Nejton Bali, Klaudjo Zhilla and Skënder Demiraj are accused of passive corruption of judges in cooperation.
