Albanian companies operating in Albania prefer to recruit employees through private agencies or universities through their acquaintances.
A state employment office in Tirana |
Employment offices are less trusted in this aspect, where according to a survey of the Secretariat of the Investment Council, only 15 percent of businesses use this alternative, Monitor reports.
"Private agencies and universities (public/private/vocational schools) are perceived as the most used channels in finding labor (although only about a fifth of the surveyed companies), while employment offices are less used (only by 15% of companies).
Meanwhile, 30% of the companies (70% of which are male entrepreneurs) that answered the questionnaire declare that they have never thought of addressing their need for workers with institutions that work in this direction," the document states.
The same underlines that while the overall effectiveness of the channels used by companies to identify the workforce remains generally quite low, the most positive cooperation/channel in finding employees is noted with universities (mainly through individual contacts with professors) and private employment agencies.
"Based on the consultations held with companies, state employment offices were not considered by companies to be effective channels for searching for skilled labor, due to their reputation of only dealing with marginalized and low-skilled people and not having access to the qualified job seekers that companies are looking for. Even from a gender point of view, the behavior is the same," reports the Secretariat.
Companies commit to training their employees for the specific needs and positions they have.
From the survey data of the Secretariat of the Investment Council, it appears that in general companies use their internal resources to train their employees without considering the state professional training schools, using outsourcing.
