Historian Arben Llalla said in Euronews Albania that the postponement of the visit of the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the coastal city of Himara came after the request of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to Llalla, Mitsotakis had no reason to go to Himare, which according to him is not an area of the Greek minority.

He accused the head of OMONIA, Fredi Beleri, of being involved in the Peshkëpia massacre in 1994.

"The visit was canceled because Rama begged him not to go to Himara as it was not the right time. Himara is not an area of the Greek minority, why should he go to see Fredi Beleri, at the offices of OMONIA in Himara, a person convicted for the massacre of 94 in the military barracks in Peshkëpi. The visit was scheduled since November, Mitsotakis would come from the border point of Kakavija together with two Greek extremist figures, who have been declared non grata. The cancellation of the visit to Himare is not a coincidence, Rama has prayed to Mitsotakis to not go", said Llalla.
