North Macedonia officially takes the next chairmanship of the OSCE

As of today, North Macedonia officially takes over the presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which includes 57 countries from three continents, for one year, VOA reports.

The Foreign Ministry of North Macedonia expects the OSCE Presidency to focus on human security at a time when the region and the world are facing uncertainty and instability. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani emphasized the goals for undertaking field missions and supporting activities aimed at the advancement of human rights and freedoms, as he noted the focus of the OSCE Presidency on renewing dialogue and achieving peace in the regions of the crisis, first of all in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The authorities in Skopje hope that the chairmanship of this large international organization will have a positive impact on North Macedonia's own position in several areas, including economic development and general stability.
