The Albanian Football Federation (AFF) has confirmed the Brazilian Sylvio Mendes Campos Júnior as the new coach of the Albanian National Football Team.
Sylvio Mendes Campos Júnior, known to the public as Silvinjo, has selected the Argentinian Pablo Javier Zabaleta Girod and the Brazilian Dorival Guidoni Junior as his assistants.
The agreement between the AFF and the new staff headed by Silvinjo foresees an 18-month duration until the end of Euro 2024 and the financial aspect will be based on the results and the achievement of the objectives. The agreement has at its core the achievement of the only objective that Albania has in these qualifiers, the qualification for the finals of Euro 2024. In the event of the achievement of the objective, it has been agreed that the coach and his staff will benefit from significant bonuses, AFF informs.
The 48-year-old Silvinjo, who comes with a rich CV as a player and coach, has a rich experience as a deputy coach immediately after leaving football and a coach afterward. It all started in 2011 when he took the position of assistant coach at Cruzeiro, then moved on to Sport Recife, Nautico, Corinthians, Inter, and assistant coach of Brazil for three years before taking charge of Olympique Lyonnais in France and then Corinthians in the Brazilian championship.
In his rich career as a player, Silvinho has been active at Corinthians, Arsenal, Celta Vigo, Barcelona, and Manchester City where he ended his career
