Students discussing study opportunities in America, Tirana, February 4, 2023 |
In Tirana, 25 American universities have opened an education fair to inform Albanian high school graduates about the many study opportunities in the USA.
The fair is being visited by hundreds of young people from the capital, who were interested in the diverse fields of study at these universities.
The education fair with American universities attracted the attention of many young people, also due to the fact that the representatives of the universities were Albanian researchers themselves, who had completed their studies in those auditoriums.
"I believe that a specialization abroad and returning to apply the knowledge in Albania would be the best idea, to make our country better", says Eva Qordja, a student of the technical economic school.
Ana Uka completed her studies and doctorate in psychology at Clemson University in family and community studies, while now she speaks to young people about her university, while teaching at a university in Tirana.
"I had a very good experience with the professors there. I strongly suggest to both graduates and students that university, where there is a very warm, welcoming and family community for students, very suitable for students from Albania", says Mrs. Uka.
Some students ask how they can transfer their studies to the USA, while high school students ask how to graduate with a bachelor's degree and do a master's degree in the USA.
"I learned a lot of interesting things here so far. I have collected many papers from universities, which I will read carefully at home and we will see", says Ersi Uruçi, student of Turgut Ozal school.
The programs offered for studies are many, while in addition to the general results, they must also work hard for their talents and their favorite branches.
"We are moving forward and we have grown as a society, both mentally and physically. I believe that with so many participations, we show that we are a generation that will walk, we will go somewhere", says Elektra Kadriaj, a graduate of the Sami Frashëri school.
Sami Sparks majored in international business at the University of North Florida, which has a small campus and small student body.
"In large universities, the auditoriums are with 400 students in front of only one professor, while in our auditoriums there are 40 students with one professor. After daily communication, the professor knows the students by name. Even at the smaller universities the programs are excellent and with excellent inter-community partners,” says Ms Sparks.
Also, the care of the American diplomats is to the maximum for the success of this fair.
"The most important thing about studying in the USA is that there you have many choices, because in the USA there are 4-5 thousand universities and each of them offers hundreds of diverse branches of study. In this education fair, you have a wide source of information, so you can learn a lot about the possibilities of studying in the USA before making a final decision", says Demian Smith, deputy ambassador of the USA in Albania.
Arban Uka is a lecturer at Epoka University in Albania, who completed his doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin, where he says he had an extraordinary experience.
"I started my Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin, It's a good public school, and with a good level in the ranking as well. It is one of the best public universities and we are advising students to go there", says prof. Arban.
