The Energy Regulatory Authority of Albania (ERAA) gives the green light for the creation of the Albanian Energy Exchange between Albania and Kosovo. The board of ERAA, as part of the creation of this exchange, has approved the rules of electricity trading, as well as other procedures.

The decision, which has already taken an official form, determines that any party involved in this procedure can ask ERAA, within 7 calendar days from the date of the decision, to review the Board's decision

The market models in both countries envisage that through the Albanian Electricity Exchange, will be implemented the targeted European market model, for the day-ahead and intraday markets.

Until today, the operation of the electricity market is carried out through the Temporary Market Rules, which means that both countries were the only ones in the region, which did not have a functional energy exchange and as a reference received prices from the Hungarian Stock Exchange.

With the beginning of the operation of the Albanian Electricity Exchange (ALPEX sh.a.) and the transition to go-live, the Temporary Rules of the Albanian Electricity Market are also repealed.
