Albanian Naim Smakiqi will run for deputy in the Swiss Parliament

 The Albanian candidate for deputy in Switzerland's parliamentary elections on October 22 is Naim Smakiqi.

The Albanian from Abria e Poshtme e Skenderaj was chosen from among the Socialist Party's 18 candidates to represent the party in Switzerland's Parliament.


Smakiqi was chosen to represent the party at the extraordinary meeting of 400 delegates at the party congress, which was held in Assens, Vaud.

Smakiqi has long been involved in politics. He is also a Renens Municipal Councilor.

Naim Smakiqi used to work at the Swiss naturalization commission. His wife runs a non-profit organization that helps Albanian girls and women integrate into this country.
