Following the public debates known as "Tirana City Talks," the mayor, Erion Veliaj, made a point of highlighting the improved air quality in a table discussion with urban planners and architects and inviting anyone to check it out using online applications such as Il Meteo or the Kopernik center.

"Tirana is rated 8 out of 10 by Il Meteo or the Kopernik center, which measures the air quality of every city. Sometimes we are 9, sometimes we are 8, but eight years ago, the same application gave Tirana a grade of 2, 3, or 4, which was not even a passing grade: thus, there was undoubtedly an event. As a result, I typically state that although we still have a lot to do, some things have been done well. We moved from a city that was cleaned once per day to one that was cleaned three times per day, and as a result, the city is now cleaner. Veliaj stated,

"Tirana has faced the problem of cleaning despite an increase in consumption and activities."

According to the mayor, Tirana's mental shift is the primary cause of this transformation.
