A street in Staten Island, New York will be named after Ismail Qemali

 

 Staten Island New York: As he had previously warned, in the Albanian community, Mr. Naser Nika, with his own initiative, his strong ties that he says he has with high officials of the state and the city of New York, in May 2023, a street in the city of Staten Island, New York, will be named after Ismail Bej Qemali, signatory of Albania's independence, former first prime minister of the Albanian state, Diaspora Shqiptare reports.

When it comes to activist Nika, it should be noted that he is working with Staten Island-New York City representatives, Staten Island District Congressman Nikolle Malotakis, Assemblymen, State Senators, Councilman David Carr, and other local officials. including the president of the SI city, Vito Fosella, "so that the Albanian language is taught as a second language in those schools, where there is a significant number of Albanian students"

He also stated that his future goals include securing permission to erect a monument or at least a bust of our national hero Adem Jashari in Staten Island - New York.

So while waiting for May, it seems that these are just some of the commitments of the well-known Albanian-American activity Naser Nika, who says that with his initiative and the support of the Albanian community in Staten Island, they are doing a great job of raising values of our nation in the US.

Yesterday, in the capital of New York, Albany, Mr. Naser Nika, together with the chairman of the Ulqini Association, Xhemo Lanica, and the activist Arb Shabani, was announced to have participated in a special session of the Assembly (Assembly) of New York.  

During this visit, the "delegation" from Staten Island was officially recognized by the work of 101 members of the New York State Assembly, in its capital, Albany (NYS).

During these meetings in coordination with the initiator Mr. Naser Nika, the announcement states that several councilors and assemblymen declared that they will provide assistance in the naming of the road with the signboard "Ismail Qemali", in the month of May on one of the first entrance roads in Staten Island, which will be known by the name of the first prime minister of Albania, Ismail Qemali.

Xhemo Lanica, who with the Ulqini association he leads, has a great contribution to the community with the activities of the Ulqini Association, said that while the session was led by the assemblyman Mr. Sam Pirozzolo, "we managed to secure bipartisan support from Democrats and Republicans on the issue of this great symbolic initiative, to have a street in Staten Island, New York - named after Ismail Qemali," which he claims is a whole initiative of the well-known Naser Nika activity.
