"Albania currently produces 100% of its own electricity"

 The energy expert, Azmer Duleviç said in an interview for "Good morning Albanians" show in Euronews Albania that Albania currently produces 100% of its electricity from its own hydropower plants.

In these conditions, our country is an exception to other countries in the region.

"We produce it ourselves, we don't need to go out and buy it," said Dulevič.

Businesses have been more "saving", which according to the latest data of the Institute of Statistics show that non-family consumers have consumed 9.9% less energy.

But Albanian families have also saved energy during 2022. The use of electricity by household consumers decreased by 0.5%. But not only consumption has fallen, as the lack of rains and flows in the rivers also brought a decrease in energy production by 21.9%.
