Three Albanians have been arrested on suspicion of using a dinghy through Belgium to bring illegal immigrants into Great Britain. This morning, officers from the National Crime Agency arrested two of them—a 46-year-old Irishman in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and two 44- and 48-year-olds in Nottingham, as Britain's National Crime Agency reports.
In the meantime, an Albanian man, 51, was taken into custody in Hove on suspicion of being an accomplice in illegal immigration. The three Albanians are said to have purchased a dinghy and used it to travel from Belgium to Britain, where the immigrants arrived in Margate, Kent, according to investigators.
Everyone in Albania is thought to have been a part of a smuggling gang. This operation comes shortly after two members of the network were detained on October 30, 2022, in Belgium. Belgian authorities also detained 12 migrants, including a child, who were all believed to be Albanian citizens.
