The most expensive variety of lemon in the world is also being cultivated in Lushnje. It is a very special type, which is known as caviar lemon or finger lemon. His origin is from distant Australia.

Farmer Klodian Hida started cultivating this unique variety in Albania 5 years ago in the lands of Fiershegan. Currently, the seedlings he planted produced the first fruits of this rare lemon, and for Klodian and his family, this was something unimaginable.

He planted 270 roots and 3 types of varieties, RTSH reports.

Foreign markets such as Italy and France are the two countries where this product is in high demand. 1 kg of these lemons is sold for 87 euros and ordered in popular restaurants.

Caviar lemon is used in various salads, and in fish, but it is also very popular in desserts.

This unique variety has an elongated shape and a very strong aroma.

The pulp of this lemon contains small grains, which are hard and when consumed give the sensation of freshness.

Unlike traditional lemons, this lemon is not squeezed and does not extract juice, but the seeds.

The area of Lushnja is the only one in Albania to date where the variety of this lemon has been adapted to the climate and soil.

It is still not used by our restaurants because of the high price it has in the market.
