Some museum buildings in Gjirokastr have been abandoned, lowering their architectural and construction values.

“The Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage Gjirokastr has conducted permanent inspections of all of the objects under its supervision or is currently conducting inspections to identify issues and prevent collapse.

According to Ardis Duk, Gjirokastr's Cultural Heritage Officer, "but it is necessary to cooperate with the owner because at the end of the day it is his property, it is private property." The revitalization bonus has been made available by the Ministry of Culture for the upcoming year, giving people who own cultural landmarks the chance to get money to fix up museum buildings.

Duka emphasized, "Here it is necessary to cooperate with the owner or possessor of the property because one of its components is the part of co-financing; if the state subsidizes a part, the possessor or owner of the property must decide the other part." Investments are being made in the restoration and revitalization of cultural heritage in the city of Gjirokastra. The residents' and local businesses' investments play a significant role in this process.
