Four Serbian mountaineers who fell and suffered body injuries during the transition from Valbona to Theth have been successfully transferred by Albanian Air Force personnel using the two helicopters AB 206 and EC 135.

Niko Peleshi, the defense minister, broke the news in a Facebook post, noting that one of the injured had been taken to Mother Teresa Hospital in Tirana and was receiving medical attention. Peleshi reports that fortunately, none of the other 3 were hurt.

The northern part of Albania, which includes the mountainous regions, can experience significant snowfall during the winter months. The amount of snowfall can vary from year to year, but it is not uncommon for some areas to receive several meters of snow. The snow can also cause disruptions to transportation and daily life in these areas.
