Skanderbeg statue will be placed in Switzerland, the Albanian sculptor reveals

 The statue of Skanderbeg made by Gëzim Muriqi will be placed in Switzerland

 The Albanian sculptor Gëzim Muriqi has brought his latest work, he has made a giant sculpture of our national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu.

According to the sculptor, this work was the request of a Kosovar who has been living in Switzerland for years and wanted this sculpture as a sign of gratitude for the Swiss state.

"This is a request from one of our compatriots who lives in Switzerland. It is his individual initiative. It is about Mr. Veli Berisha, an Albanian from Kosovo, whose main idea is to thank the Swiss citizen for all that they have done for our community.

Since the figure of Mother Teresa has been worn out more, then he has thought of finding a sign of thanks which will be unifying, besides being our national hero, he is also a hero of the Europeans. So this satue will be located in Switzerland, the exact location is still being discussed, it has not been determined, but I believe that it will be promoted within this year", sculptor Gëzim Muriqi told Euronews Albania.
