Risi Albania, a project to improve the labor market for young people, sees the formalization of cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Swiss Embassy.

The agreement for the third phase of the Risi Albania project—for a youth-friendly job market—was signed by Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj and Swiss Ambassador Ruth Huber.

Minister Ibrahimaj emphasized that the projects and programs that aim to promote cognitive processes, particularly digitalization, or to increase employment with direct financing are the focus of the policies.

The Minister stated, "The budget policies we are undertaking also aim to promote sectors such as tourism and agriculture through the development of the value chain in medicinal plants, fruits, and vegetables." This will allow businesses to access high-value markets, increase local income, and create additional employment opportunities for young people.

"It is very important to give young people the right career advice and skills that can be sold. The capacity of businesses to provide more and better jobs is also crucial. "This is the goal of the draft agreement that we are signing today," Swiss Ambassador Ruth Huber stated.

The agreement makes it easier for a number of Albanian institutions and authorities to work together, with the Ministry of Finance and Economy playing the most important role. The goals of the agreement are to improve career counseling for young people, increase the skills needed by the market, and help businesses become more competitive and long-lasting. The grant from the Swiss government is 6.9 million euros, and the project is currently in its third and final phase.

The project works in agribusiness, information technology, and tourism and is focused on innovation. It has introduced innovative and useful practices in the two previous phases, which it will aim to expand even further and consolidate into a more favorable employment environment for young people.

The private sector will receive assistance in adapting to international and EU standards thanks to a special focus on quality standards.
