"The Austrian President has called on the Albanian government to implement key reforms of the integration process and to abandon the golden passports. During a joint press conference with his Albanian counterpart, Bajrma Begaj, the Austrian head of state emphasized that this undermines the reform process.

"There has been good progress in the screening process with the EU, and I hope that further steps will be taken as soon as possible. According to the new methodology, the focus is on essential issues such as the rule of law, fundamental rights, and independent justice, and within this framework, we encourage Albania to develop reforms in these sectors. This means abandoning an idea that is under discussion if it would undermine the credibility of the reform process, as stated by the Albanian government regarding the golden passports. Austria will be a supporter of membership, and it will remain so."

The deepening of cooperation is the focus of the visit of Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen to Albania. The Austrian head of state announced the opening of an economic forum in our country today. According to him, the main point is the development of cooperation in energy.

"More than 50 Austrian businesses operate in Albania, and I am honored to open the economic forum today, where the main point is the development of cooperation in renewable energy and environmentally friendly infrastructure. 20 Austrian businesses have joined my invitation, and we are here to provide our expertise in the common interest," Van der Bellen said.

He said that Austria supports justice reform and cooperation in the field of education.

"The Austrian Development Agency is active in Albania and is a major supporter of justice reform. The Ministers of Justice are signing a cooperation agreement in education. I visited the Austrian school in Shkodra, and it has a very good reputation. It is a strong point for information technology and communication sciences. It strengthens the offer for qualified employees."
