He planned to commit a massacre during St. Patrick's Day
A collaboration between the police departments in New York and Yonkers with the FBI has led to the arrest of an Albanian accused of planning a terrorist attack on St. Patrick's Day.
According to the indictment, Ridon Kola has expressed his support for "radical Islamic extremism" several times on social networks, US media writes.
He has made threats of terrorist attacks in Yonkers and beyond in New York several times in recent years.
On November 19, 2021, an official of the YPD (Yonkers Police) wrote on social networks, in the Albanian language, "I will kill the little girls".
On December 5, 2021, he threatened the local police again with the message: "Starting tomorrow I will start killing your officers. Just to know who is doing it, Ridon Kola, Albanian blood". He said he would kill the mayor of Yonkers.
For this, he was interrogated several times by the police, but he denied the suspicions and was released. However, it is kept under surveillance.
Apparently, this time the authorities believed that the risk of a terrorist attack was real and intervened to prevent it.
Finally, a few days ago he was photographed with an ax detailing how he would kill police and people on St. Patrick's Day.
The 32-year-old's messages have been radicalizing this month, prompting law enforcement to intervene by arresting him and opening a terrorism trial.
