Four films by the Albanian director Xhanfize Keko have been selected to be shown at the Museum of Madrid for the Spanish public, Euronews reports.
Not only did they resist communist propaganda, but they continue to be among the best artistic films for children today. The work of the renowned director Xhanfize Keko is echoing beyond Albanian borders.
This spring, a retrospective dedicated to her creations is being organized at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. The four films, "Tomka and His Friends", "Beni Walks Himself", "Mimoza the Rubber Girl" and "Taulant Seeks a Sister", will be shown from April 12 to 29, 2023.
Curated by Chema Gonzales, programmer and curator of the "Reina Sofia" Museum, the films of the well-known Albanian director will be presented to the Spanish public by the British critic and director Mark Cousins, the Albanian-American director Thomas Logoreci, the producer Genc Përmeti, and the director Ilir Keko, the son of Xhanfise Keko.
The next stops will be in another Spanish city, Santiago de Compostela.
