Albania agreement with the Arab Emirates on cyber attacks

After the US and the EU, the Albanian government has also sought the help of the United Arab Emirates to protect the online service system from cyber attacks. The responsible authorities signed an agreement for cooperation between the two countries in this field, where our country has faced hackers not only in public but also in private services in the last two years, local media say.

After the signing, Prime Minister Rama, alongside the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, showed that this memorandum has strategic importance for Albania.

"This is of extraordinary strategic importance for our country because it concerns the sovereignty and integrity of this country, and what is now the new type of threat to sovereignty and integrity, not by showing tanks or planes that violate territorial integrity but by hacking and attacking the cyber space to paralyze all state functions," said Rama.

"I eagerly look forward to working closely with your team to make your dreams and Sheikh Mohammed's dreams a reality."

The chief diplomat of the United Arab Emirates also stated during this meeting that, in addition to cybersecurity, cooperation with Albania will continue in other sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and tourism.
