Youngsters brought into the world in Albania to unfamiliar guardians can get Albanian citizenship younger than 18, with the assent of the guardians. The government's policies to attract talents or qualities in the fields of education, science, art, culture, the economy, and sports are framed by this amendment to the Citizenship Law.

It is made clear in the relation that is attached to the draft of the law that the Albanian Football Federation is one of the main supporters of the changes to the law.

The objective is to raise the level of play among the nation's football teams and, in particular, to improve the national football teams' reputations at the European and international levels.

"A child born within the territory of the Republic of Albania, from parents with other citizenships, who are legal residents in the territory of the Republic of Albania, may receive Albanian citizenship with the consent of both parents," states the new amendments.

Previously, the law allowed children whose parents were unknown to be born or found in Albania to receive Albanian citizenship; however, this provision could be removed if the parents are legally known before the child is born. have reached the age of 14 and are citizens of a foreign country, provided, however, that the child does not become stateless as a result of this action.

Foreign nationals who do not pose a threat to public order and who do not pose a threat to the Republic of Albania's national interest or interest in the fields of education, science, art, culture, the economy, or sports are expected to be eligible for Albanian citizenship under the new changes that the government has submitted for consultation.

The AFL says that this change makes it easier for the Federation to find new talent because the age limit of 18 makes it hard for the Federation to approach talent.
