The court in the USA has given a life sentence to an Albanian who beat his co-worker to death last summer in an assembly plant of the General Motors company near Detroit, local media say.
Astrit John Bushi, 48, a cleaning worker, was sentenced Thursday by a jury to life in prison for first-degree murder in the killing of Gregory Lanier Robertson, 49, of Pontiac.
The two men were employed by a cleaning service contracted by General Motors and were working at the Oakland County Auto Assembly plant in Orion County, north of Detroit, when the fatal attack occurred in August 2022.
Police officers arrived at the factory at around 01:40 in the morning after reports of a serious injury to a person.
They found Robertson bleeding and unconscious on the ground, while the Albanian was standing next to the victim. Although the man was given first aid, he did not survive.
