Euronews Albania reveals details from the arrest of the wanted Ramazan Rraja. He offered the police one million euros to let him escape. Rraja and his friend Luis Konomi were traveling in a bulletproof car.
After the police intervention in a bar in the area of Urës së Gjoles, Ramazan Rraja and Luis Konomi tried to escape through the back door and then with a bulletproof car that they were driving. The police siege of the area led to their neutralization, and at the time of the arrest, Ramazan Rraja proposed a deal to the police for his freedom.
"I will give you one million euros, just let us go," the 30-year-old who had a gun ready to shoot is reported to have said. He was considered a person with high social risk and had been hiding from the SPAK's order for several months, taking shelter in Tirana, Durrës, and Lezhë.
He is accused of being part of a criminal group that attempted to execute former prosecutor Arjan Ndoi and Aleksandër Laho, known as "Rrumi," an event in which the driver of the car, Andi Maloku, was killed.
